Hi, I'm Neal, from Front Royal, VA. Any other Shenandoah Valley members here? Maybe we could get together.
I was diagnosed in 2000/2001, but my doctor didn't have me monitor my levels on a regular basis. He would just send me in to have my A1c checked. He never educated me.
Well, I have been on Glucotrol XL and Actos for a while now and just completed Diabetes Management classes last week. I really want to eat better and keep on top of my diabetes. Maybe I could even get off the meds. Yesterday morning my pre-breakfast numbers were 73. Last night after dinner they were 81. Then I had a snack and an hour later I was at 84. This morning I woke up and was at 72. That is low for me and I was feeling it! So, I think the meds are keeping me low and if I continue to eat right I should get my meds reduced and maybe get off the meds all together.
Oh, I just have to ask. What is Type 1.5??????
