I'm a 53 year old newly diagnosed ( oct. 7 ) type 2. This is all new to me . I had to have a stent put in an artery on Oct. 8 and found out about being diabetic after blood tests the day before. This seems like a great place to start learning how to manage this. Trying to figure out this new way to eat seems to be the hardest so far and changing my old lifestyle is now a fact of life.
Good Morning... Welcome to our family. In my opinion, this is a good place to start on your new adventure. Lots of information to be found among all the members. I still learn something new just about every day.

I find following a low-carb diet keeps my blood sugars within target range. You may want to try limiting your carbohydrate intake if you're not already doing so.
I've been trying my best to stay on a low carb diet since I found this out and have been reading the labels to every food I get. Anything high carb that I ate went out the door. Most of the low carb foods I've tried actually taste pretty good. A few low carb cookies I tried taste horrible . My wife's going thru a lot of recipes to try for me.
Hello, it's nice to meet Ya. Gee, that's sure not a nice way to find
out that you have Diabetes. I usually just eat 4-6 small portioned
meals a day. This works Good for me but then I've never been a
big eater. Good Luck and Welcome.
