It's great to be able to talk to someone with the same disease, it
makes it less scary!
I'm t 2 and not happy @ it!
I had my first major B.S. drop yesterday and it scared the bee gee bers out of me!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I learned that I need to take Dextrose tabs with me and keep them in my purse! |

Not sure how it's not user friendly... but you will get the hang of it... it's a peice of cake! (no added sugar, of course!)

| | | I'm not sure about people with type 2 but I always try to keep a glucose meter and glucose nearby because I sometimes pass out VERY quickly.

So far, I've only had the one bad episode...thank God!
How often do you check the forum here? I only check a few time a week.
Still not too sure how to navigate it.

| | | Dar, I'm with LG on that one...
I ALWAYS have my glucometer, hypo kit and insulin on me...
maybe its years of experience, maybe we both are brittle...
but it is a good idea to have something with you at all times. Sometimes hypos can come on without warning, as you discovered...

| | Hi There Dar
Welcome 2 the friendliest forum on the net. I am also type 2 & do sometimes forget to carry my stuff with me But in my old age I am getting better in remembering. You should have a journal to keep your bs's in & if you have a hypo experience jot down what caused it so if it happens again you will have an idea why & how to prevent them.

I always have oj in my purse, in the truck, by my recliner, and by my bed. Heck, I even have one sitting by the toliet in the master bath... Good Luck, and Welcome to our family...

I find the "New Posts" link the most useful.
I haven't carried dextrose tabs in a dog's age. I can't stand the things. If I have to consume sweets, I'll at least take something I like. Tonight was a chocolate chip cookie. :mmm: | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
