Smile Ive Been a Lurkin

Hi Everybody I have finally decided to become a part of this GREAT site and make my first post. Ok now my story. I am a Type 2 diagnosed about 2000.
I had maxed out all of the dosage amounts on oral meals that you could take by summer of 2006. I was referred to Endocrinologist Oct. 06 for the purpose of better BG control. I was immediately put on a Lantus injection regimen and also advised (demanded) that I get a Treadmill Stress test done.
I went to one of the local hospitals for the test and was told to come back the following day for a angiogram. I was admitted to the hospital following this procedure after learning that I had a main artery blocked 100% and two other ones at 70%. I had four CABG's the next morning. I am extremely lucky as I had virtually no problems and little pain after the surgery. I am currently in a Cardiac Rehab program and will probably return to work by mid March. I have lost about 30 lbs since the surgery and have BG in good control with a small dose of Humalog with meals and Lantus once daily. I enjoy all of the information and knowledge exchanged here and have looked at many sites and always came back to this one. Thanks Everybody for making this site
possible.

Hello Oreman and welcome. My husband just had the bypass surgery in November, and is just starting to get back to his old self. It's great that you have gained control of your BS so quickly.
