| | | Thoughts about this new item in my life. Type II as of last week. Ok, first shocked then sad then feeling sorry for my self then last Friday I said stop the nonsense, its time to face up and kick some butt and so in a weeks time I have been around the emotional merry go round.
In the long run it may have saved my life more so then just finding out about diabetes, I am now eating better and exercising. Slowly I am bringing my numbers down.
But most importantly I have found you all.
Thanks for having me.

| | | Welcome Tucker! I know you'll find this place a lifesaver, just like I did.
A new diagnosis is certainly a shock, but you'll do fine if you continue testing regularly, eating well and getting regular exercise.
A great book for a newly diagnosed T2 is "Type II Diabetes, The First Year," by Gretchen Becker. It was so helpful in dealing with the day to day and I still refer back to it on occasion.
Keep that great attitude and it will serve you well.
Again, Welcome!
Linda

| | | Welcome Tucker....way to go on dealing, and it will be ok down the road if you have a setback on the emotions, it's ok, and could happen, so just pick up where you were and post anytime for support and an ear to listen if need be.
....I had my 5 minute hissy fit, got so mad at doctor for not really listening to me when I would complain of certain things, then got mad at my self for not getting in her face to really find out what was going on (told me I'm getting old...ha ) so I fired her LOL... |
