Unhappy New to the site

I am new to the site. Have trouble staying on track. Have trouble taking medication. Need some encouragement at times. Trying to lose weight. Would like to hear from others on how they handle what we are going through.

Hello and welcome. Are you a CraftLady or a male as your profile says?
You will get plenty of encouragement here, so just keep coming back and posting your questions.

Welcome Craftlady!!! You've come to the right place for encouragement, advice just about anything. There's a great bunch of people here to help. It's not easy at all staying on track. It's soooo easy to eat more than we should and so on. Just keep coming here for guidance and help. This forum helps keep things in perspective. Hang in there!!

Hi CraftLady. I like making crafts also.

I just keep my exercise routine going(treadmill,
fast dance, walking, lifting/pulling small weighs
(just got my bike out also), eat small portion
meals (usually 4-6 daily), drink plenty of water
and some tea(good for lipids). I have a pet bunny
for therapy(she always makes me smile), comedy
programs once a day usually, meditation, a supportive
mate, Kids and Friends, lots of testing, take my meds.
usually on time, etc., etc. No mystery there.

I do hope that you learn new ways here, to add pluses
to your Diabetic experience. Nice to see Ya.

Welcome craftlady!
You mentioned having trouble with your meds...what sort of trouble? Side effects? Forgetting to take them? Not liking to take them? What meds are you taking?

How long since you were diagnosed? Do you check your blood sugars regularly?

It does take awhile to come to terms with anything lifechanging...and diabetes certainly is. HOwever, with a few lifestyle changes, you can do well.

I think it's so important to learn all you can about diabetes. You're not alone, we're all here to offer support and advice, but the most important person you have to rely on is YOU! YOU have to make the daily decision to eat right, exercise, check your blood sugar and take your meds.

Hang in there...things do get easier to manage as time goes by. Look around, ask lots of questions, do whatever you have to do to ensure yourself a long and healthy life.
