Smile introduction

I'm 25 years old, diagnosed in 1991 (type 1). I've just started using a pump (the Accucheck Spirit, not so popular here I've noticed..) and found this site when I was looking for tips about pumping. My A1c was 8.0 a week ago and now I hope to get it better so that me and my husband could hopefully sometime soon get a baby.

I'm from Finland, so the health care system is pretty much different from the US. The pumps are not so common, and the criteria for getting a pump are much stricter here, i.e. injections don't work well enough, very sensitive to insulin etc. On the other hand, almost everything is paid for by the national health care system, so that I just pay 3e/3months of insulin (Novolog or Novorapid as we call it here) and everything else I get for free (the testing strips, the pump). So I'm happy with the system.

Now I'll continue learning more from this site and forum

Welcome Saana.
My Grandmother was born in Finland. She always told me how pretty it is there. I was able to greatly improve my control and my A1C numbers with the pump, so I am sure that you will also be able to get better control. Keep us posted.
