Welcome Futebolmommy! I started a new thread for you under introductions as well, so we can get to know you better.

Tell us a little more about yourself. What meds to you take for your diabetes?

It is devastating to get that diagnosis....I was petrified, as i'd seen my mom have lots of problems. But after I found the forums, I saw many going through life with diabetes and having much, much better time than my mom had because they did what they needed to do to get good control.

We can't change the fact that we have diabetes, but we can certainly change how we react to it. I feel that i'll live longer with diabetes than before I got it, as it forces me to be more aware of what I eat and how I live my life.

Look around, ask lots of questions. You've "inherited" a huge forum family.

Obesity and Type 2 are strongly associated. Most people assume that Obesity is the cause and Diabetes the effect. It is equally valid to suggest that the underlying metabolic disorder which leads to the Type 2 causes the Obesity.

Hi football mom! Welcome to the club of amazing D people. Like Linda said, spill the beans about yourself, ha! DOB, height, weight, biggest secret, etc. You know I'm just kidding, but we'd love to know a little more about how you are controlling your D, etc.
