Hi Everyone!

Hi,
Just recently diagnosed with Type II in February and just tickled to find this forum and hopefully able to share and learn with others. Have lost 25 pounds since new diet and exercising, going for another 20 or so to get down to 180. One question I do have concerns my feet. The tingling seems to be getting worse instead of better. It is painful but I can usually just walk through it but it is making it harder to keep up with my hour long daily walks. Anyone have similar experiences to share, solutions???

Welcome to the club.

Never had my feet tingle except for it falling asleep. Glad you can walk it out.

Have you mentioned this to your doc?

How long do you think you had diabetes before your Feb dx?

It can be counterintuitive. I think that's why it comes up so much.

Sometimes as control improves the feet tingling can become more severe. It's not a sign that you're doing something wrong. Just keep doing the right things, always recommitting to eating right, and do the exercise even when the tingly feet seem to be telling you to let up on them. Keep and eye on them, take care of the feet, and keep up the good work.

Some of the tingling you feel may actually be healing. It is possible to get a measure of improvement in nerve damage with healthy living, but it can take longer than you like.

This is the message I got here at DF. I suppose that it's quite probably correct.

Hiya

I too get tingly feet, hot feeling on soles. I echo the previous message and have experienced symptoms feeling worse as you bring the numbers down. I got mild blurry vision when I began my regime which righted itself after a few weeks. Chances are the tingling may well go away too.

I have had this problem for years. The pain I feel has gotten worse since having foot surgery. I take neurontin for the pain and it does help a bit. Like you, I walk through it and find that my feet are sore for most of the night until I sleep and rest them. I wish I had better news.

Hi,

I am new to the forum too and very happy as well to read what everyone has to share. I am a teacher and have little options to sit through my day. I too have feet that really hurt alot. I don't have any answers. I keep looking for good shoes or insert that won't cost me a fortune. My numbers as very ggod, very under control and have been since diagnosis. I don't know why I hurt so much.

I have discovered that the more coffee I drink, even decalf, the more pain I experience. Cold Chicago winters also seem to aggivate the situation.

Good luck. I will be reading any responses to the delema.

Back in 2003 I had what I now know to be prediabetes It started with numbness in my hands and by time I was diagnosed with type 2 in 2004 I had tingling numbness and pain in both legs. The most of the numbness in my hands went away after I got bg under control. 4 years later I have numbness in both feet but more in the right foot and confined mostly to my toes.

Oh yea welcome to the forums It great place for support.
