| | Just joined, this forum looks great Just got the word a few days ago that my oral medications have reached their limit and that my HA1c has jumped from 6.6 to 7.7.
My Doc has scheduled me for Diabetes Education and it appears that I'll be going on insulin.
Just found this Forum while tooling around on the internet and it looks like I'm fortunate to find a place with a wealth of good information and friendly advice.

| | | Welcome aboard. I was on oral meds not long ago as well, and since being put on insulin (N & R) it has lit a fire under me. Although I probably could use the education class again, I am learning quite a bit here!

| | Novolin N (time released) and Novolin R (regular insulin)
I use a combination of these injections. 10R/30N in the morning and 30R/30N at night (after dinner usually around 9pm).
If I exercise after taking the N variety, it lowers the BG to dangerous levels, so I try to exercise then take them.

For you t2's i suppose switching to injections may at first seem a tad scary but don't worry. There are loads of great people here who know there stuff and most of us have a pretty good sense of humour too which helps. You take care
