| | | Newbie Here Hello Good People: I've been on a NG alt.support.diabetes but thought this would be a new place to visit. Looks like I'll be starting Lantus as pills have been so-so with results. I've never had a weight problem and been athletic for many years. Endo thinks I might have a secretory dysfunction and not insulin resistance. He plans to do a GAD test as well. I'm a T2 (7 yrs) and fasting bg levels are usually around 145 mg/dl. Since starting amaryl over a yr ago not change in fasting but afternoon bg levels have improved sometimes even below 70 if I ate little for lunch.

| | | Are you sure it's not just the "Dawn Effect"?
145 is high but not disasterous.

| | | Art: I'd like to see fbg around 120. PP bg can easily reach 180+ even on Metformin,Amaryl and Actos. Lantus might be worth trying just to get the other pills methinks.
