| | An accu-chek is a company that makes blood testing meters. ACCU-CHEK Blood Glucose Monitoring Systems | ACCU-CHEK
A fasting BG test is one performed after fasting, typicaly first thing in the morning. It may be done at a lab or with our personal meter, say an Accu-Chek Aviva. It gives an idea how your basals are being managed as opposed to food. Basal is the sugar continuosly being released by your liver.

| | Well, no need to add anything to THAT John. So I did.
There's lots of jargon. Don't feel silly asking. We all need help in one way or another!

| | No need to add anything? How about "Welcome to the Forum"! Tell us more about yourself? Are you diabetic? If so type 1 or 2, how long, meds, male/female where are you, etc any thing you would like to share that would help us answer questions.
Have a blessed day
