Hello!

Hello to everybody here on this wonderful forum. I have been lurking here for a week or so and had to sign up to thank everybody for the wonderful info that is provided here. I am newly diagnosed Type II, and have already been making major life changes in diet, excersise and stress reduction. This has been very tough so far but reading everybodys posts and seeing that others have experience the same things have really helped. Thanks again for this wonderful site.

Hello again sorry for not responding sooner but I was out of town for a week for work. I am a 29 year old father of one 3 year old boy with a little girl due in late July. I was diagnosed 5/1 after going to the local health clinc because I had not been feeling well for about a month. I suspected that I was diabetc because of my weight (5'11 345) and symptoms (dry mouth, always thirsty, frequent urination etc.) so they checked by BG and it was 455 so they sent me to the ER to get it down. Since then I have found a doctor, a gym, and a new diet. I haven't got an A1c yet because the lab messed up and didn't do the test. The doc originally put me on Metformin 500mg twice daily but that was giving me horrible diaherra so he switched me to 15mg of Actos which has made me feel 1000% better. My BG's has gotten better every week and hopefully when I take my A1c I end up with a good #. I'm sure I will have tons of questions for you guys. Thanks for the warm welcome!
