I found out yesterday from the MiniMed rep (when I started the pump) that Aetna started covering the CGMS 2 weeks ago. So, I'll be pursuing that ASAP. Thank you for all of your research and advice!
Jo -
I continue to be amazed at what a small world this is. I'll have to post a picture of my "Cougarmobile" as my friends call it so that all of the other fellow Cougs here can pay homage. ;-) LOL And yes, Go Cougs! (I can't WAIT for football season! - I just hope we crush the Fuskies - er, I mean, Huskies!)
Karen -
Thanks! It's only been about 21 hours, but so far so good! )

| | Glad to hear that Aetna has finally entered the 21st century! Well, baby steps I guess...
As for your "Go Cougs!"... sorry, we're a "Go Huskies!" family. Our son is going to UW in the fall. It is quite funny though, since our 6 year-old's teacher last year, for kindergarten, is a Wazzu fan. She and her kids went there. So, of course she kept telling the kids at the end of everyday, "...and remember kids, GO COUGS!" Then the kids would come home and argue, it was hysterical seeing our daughter root for the Cougs and the rest of us for the Huskies. I don't want to know how many parents yelled at the teacher, since most of the people in our neighborhood (hence, had school-aged kids there) went to UW. Honestly though, can't we all just get along??!!?? We're all just miserably stuck in the rain and lack of sunshine...solidarity people!!!
Anyhow, hope you're enjoying your pump. |

| | Sure, we can get along, as long as it doesn't involve Huskies! ) I grew up in Kent (what part are you in?) and I still turned out to be a Coug, so there's hope for all of you misguided folks over there! LOL Just kidding, of course! It is curious, however, how many WSU license plates you see over in Husky-ville when I'm there visiting... Hmmm... LOL
As for "We're all just miserably stuck in the rain and lack of sunshine..." that's not entirely true over here. We've got glorious sunshine and very little rain the last few weeks. Like I said, I grew up in Kent (lived there or other various parts of Western WA for about 25 years) but after I moved here in 2004, there is a big difference in weather, generally, between the two places. There is perhaps less of a difference on a day-to-day basis, but overall, Eastern WA is generally hotter and drier than Western WA. IMHO, of course. )
And yes, I'm thoroughly enjoying the pump, but the day is still young. ) LOL

| | | I'm on the west hill, just up from the Riverbend Golf Complex, off of Reith. If you know the area, the back of my property is on Lake Fenwick Road. My little ones go to Neely-O'Brien and my older two are at Kent-Meridian (well, the oldest graduated last month). Originally our property was in the Federal Way School district, but last summer they changed the boundaries and the line moved from directly through our house to three houses over, so now we're in the Kent School district. Weird.
Yeah, I know that the weather out that way is better than here in western WA, but you get more snow...People are such idiots over here and roll up the sidewalks when it snows.
I want to move to Phoneix now. I miss sunshine! And this will be the first 4th of July in 10 years that's been rained out. My kids are mad about that! |

| | I'm not as familiar with the West Hill as the East one, and specifically, what is now Covington. I grew up out there on Crest Airpark. It's a municipal airport that also has residential streets. My dad was a Certified Flying Instructor and now he builds planes for fun. Oh the joys of being retired. He (and my mother) live in Lewiston, ID now, though, so they're not too far away. I do still have family in Kent, though. I graduated from Kentwood High School, and my dad graduated from KM.
I know what you mean about driving in snow. And yes, Eastern WA does get more of that for sure. I've gotten a LOT better driving in all sorts of weird weather conditions that change on a minute-to-minute basis (literally!) since moving here. And what's really odd is that even though Colfax is only about 16 miles from Pullman, I'd have NO clue what the weather was doing in Pullman when I left the house.
As for the 4th, I'll try and send some of our 95+ degree heat your way! ) Send us the rain!
