Hello

Hello. I've was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes two years ago. I've been reading the forums on and off and thought I'd try to become more active. There is a lot of great information here and it's good to know that there is a community for diabetics on the web.

Welcome to the forums, glad you found us. Do jump in, ask lots of questions, that's how we all learn.

How are you doing on your control? what are your numbers like?

Welcome to DF. Please share info on how you are dealing with your diabetes. Since I got diagnosed 4 months ago, I'm curious to get an idea of how things would be two years later

My last 3 HBA1C's have been at 6.1. I've remained relatively flat. I'm currently taking 500mg of metformin er once a day. I've cut a significant amount of carbs, which is hard since I'm Asian (rice). I've been exercising once a week, but I want to step it up. I've also cut down significantly on alcohol and tobacco.

My goal is to stay under 6. I've been taking my metformin at night, but have switched it to the mornings. I'm curious to see how it will affect my hba1c. As expected, my morning fasting glucose levels have been higher, but my blood levels during the day are lower.

I hope to learn from everyone. Let's try to stay healthy together!
