Hello everyone

hello my name is Lesley and I have diabetes among other problems. I really like this site. Gives a lot of good information.

Inherrited the High blood pressure..not sure where I got the thyroid problems LOL

Diabetes..from being overweight
High Blood Pressure thanks mom and grandma
Thyroid problems...this is just from being over weight..I hope

T2, diagnosed 8/31/06.
Byetta 5 mcg
HCTZ 12.5 mg every other day for BP
Enalapril 20 mg 1 daily (ace-inhibitor)
Lower carb dieter (approx. 75 total carbs/day, more on weekends), taking chromium, multivitamin and fish oil tablets


Initial A1C 8/06: 9.6
11/06: 6.2.
03/07: 5.3
06/07: 5.4
10/07: 5.3
05/08: 6.2 (right after dealing with shingles and bronchitis)

Welcome! You'll find that diabetes & thyroid problems are a very common combination. Many people here have thyroid issues (including myself).

Welcome aboard Les, Tell us more. We do hope you find us a good source of information. Count your carbs, rest, and exercise plus drink lots of water! All good starting points.

Hi Lesley,

It's true -- lots of us also have the thyroid problems, and several of us also have high blood pressure. I also have RA in the hands and wrists. Got you beat!! Just kidding! We sometimes get a little collection going . . . .

The good thing is that we have drugs to take care of the low-functioning thyroid and high blood pressure. We definitely fight harder for balance and health than most people.

Thank you everyone for the welcome. I am just really scared. I am 33 and should not be feeling this way. I stress a lot so that might be some of the problem.
