A little more about me

Ok, here goes...

I have type 2 diabetes, but take no medications. The doc tried putting me on metformin but I had such a reaction that he took me off it. I control mine with my diet. Usually run about 140 or so, unless I do something stupid, then it will spike. I do take fish oil and multivitamins as often as I can remember to, but need to get better about it. Don't really know what else to say...not very good at the "all about me" stuff.

Welcome Anthony!

Does your doctor know your bg is running around 140? I hope you try to get lower numbers than that! It's not horrible, but not too great either.

Are you checking your numbers upon waking, then again 2 hours after you have eaten? The number after eating (postprandial) is pretty important. It tells you if the foods you are eating work well.

Do you watch your carb intake?

Welcome to the forums, Anthony. An average of 140 equates to about a 6.1 - 6.4 A1C. What are your spikes like? There are alternatives to metformin available, including injectibles like Byetta.

Regards,
