Hi all,

My name is Sonny and have been a diabetic since 1991. Presently on oral medication to control blood sugar.

Found a cheap Indian spice called Halba that has reduced my daily morning reading from 8-10mmol to 5-7mmol. You can get this spice from any Indian grocery as it is used by them to cook curry. Last hab1c in August 07 was 7.4%. Going for another test next week and will post the result on this forum.

I take it twice daily, each 1 tablespoon of the grounded to powder form. Mixed with lukewarm water.

Try it if you are having problems controlling your blood sugar. So far, I don't have any side effects after 4 months on this stuff. Medication dosages no change. Also managed to reduce weight from 175lbs to 168lbs within this 4 months. No change in diet or exercise regime.

But I do qigong, though!

Hello! Sounds like the spice you've found may be fenugreek. See this article, here, as well.

Hi ShottleBop,

Read the article on fenugreek, seems it is the same. Brown in colour and it looks sand like. When grounded it is yellowish like tumeric. Taste bitter and has that maple ordour.

Have you tried? For pre diabetic maybe this alone will do??? No need oral medication.
