Hello :)

Hello
My name is Jen and I'm a type 1 diabetic, diagnosed when I was two years old (in 1978). My blood sugars have been very difficult to control since I reached puberty, and while I've had many good years on it, I still struggle to prevent sugars from swinging up and down.
On the positive side, I've lived with this for 30 years, without many complications, and I hope I can help people who are just starting out as well as finding some solutions myself
Hello again
Jen

Hello Jen & welcome to DF. I was diagnosed in 1971 when I was 10 and I too was all over the place plus thin like death warmed up.
Anyway you have come to a helpful place Jen and you will find lots of Brit's who have the same disease as we have.

Thank you for the welcome, and I like the Signature "My Pancreas is on strike" .
I was always porky as a child, and still am, partially because my ma thinks if there isn't 3 different types of carbs at dinner, it's not a proper meal ) *.
Thank you again for the welcome
Jen
*And I'm a pig who'll eat anything that isn't nailed down

I think that I can relate. As part of my welcome to you, I'm including a picture of myself:

Nah. That's a little pig, included by virtue of the love of eating. Were I to foray into the realm of fat-or-not, I'd have included a picture of a bigger pig.

I thought it was a very handsome pig, compared with say, John Prescott*.
