Welcome to the forum! Good job on the weight loss, so far, and on the exercise. I find keeping up on the exercise the hardest thing for me.

Samantha,

Welcome to the forums, glad you found us, it's a great place for information. The people here are friendly and always ready to help/support.

I'd suggest you check out a book called "The first year: Type 2 diabetes, by Gretchen Becker", it's informative and easy to read.

Well done on the weight loss! How often are you testing, how are your numbers?

Visit and post often,

Hi Shottle and thanks for the welcome.

Exercise is hard for me too . I have to MAKE myself get up and do it . Of course my bg helps to push me too , haha.

Metformin made me real sick so I'm taking a vacation from till my stomach gets back to normal .

This is very life changing to say the least .

Visit and post often,

I test about 8 times a day . I am trying to see what food I can eat .

I started out with bg n the 240-279 range . Yet my dr test was 140 in beginning. In past several wk.s I haven't reached the 200 mark . I exercise, ea low carbs and I am 11-199 , this past wks I have been 111-157 .

No A1c has been done . Dr. doesn't seem conerned about D ,just me taking meds for colestrol and BP. My trig.s have been coming down from 700 to 571 before DX of diabetes .

No blood work now for past couple months, so will see next visit .
