G'day Paul, I'm glad you found us here at Df , it's the best place on the www for support, learning & caring.
Your exercise regime is a credit to you & hopefully has inspired me to pick up my game & do more then just walk.
Impressed by your interests, it goes to show I just dont reach for the stars

Paul,

Welcome. I've been diagnosed 3 years as a type 2 and it really cheers me up to hear from people who have had long term success with managing their condition. Over time, constant attention to diet and exercise can wear on you, and it is really good to hear form people like you.

Welcome to the forums.

yes, sometimes you feel a bit frustrated. But I look at it this way..For the quality of life I want.. and travel.. and Eat / Drink what I want, .. I reward myself! Like tomorrow I have planned to run 6 miles in 65 minutes and 30 minutes Resistance exercise (being Saturday) .. and reward? go to a massage center for 1 hour massage! I eat most everything.. but control quanity, specially Carbs and fat. Eat nuts instead of chips. Also don't eat Red meat. lot of Veg i eat. Whenever i beat the HbA1C goal, I treat myself WELL! (my next goal? HbA1C 6.2 on 31st July reward? 1 week in Europe!). It is possible!
Hope i helped! PMohanan

Hi Lee! Nothing is 'impossible'! you can very well beat me! All you need is to make up your mind. I know some days... u just can't.. leave those days. And reward the days you do better! Consistancy is all that is needed, i feel. Good luck! be around! Moh

Hi Mike! You said 'Still' on meds only? I am trying to see if I can REDUCE the dosage! I am on minimal doses! Yes CAN do it! Just be Consistant. I even eat ,most things, only control the quantity and workout more if I ate more! My Doc calls me his Star Patient. I do not feel I am a patient. Feel i can do all anyone can do. well, i had seen what Diabetes can do.. My Bro died at 65 (heart). Let us be Fighters and beat it! Moh

Hi Paul in Charlotte! I love the area. My daughter went to Pfeiffer University near Albemarle. I also love international travel and have Diabetes. Seems we have a lot to talk about!

Welcome....
