I'm New and I hope to get more information about Diabetes so I can help my father who have diabetes (allways over 350)

Welcome to the forums! Lots of great information and support here. You should get your dad to check us out. I know as a diabetic, its so much easier when there are other diabetics around to answer questions and just to commiserate with what we all go through at times.

Does your dad watch his carbohydrate intake? Does he get regular exercise? What meds does he take for his diabetes?

Having a consistently high blood sugar can lead to all sorts of complications, so his doctor should definitely be made aware of these numbers.

Byetta 5 mcg
HCTZ 12.5 mg every other day for BP
Enalapril 20 mg 1 daily (ace-inhibitor)
Lower carb dieter (approx. 75 total carbs/day, more on weekends), taking chromium, multivitamin and fish oil tablets


Initial A1C 8/06: 9.6
11/06: 6.2.
03/07: 5.3
06/07: 5.4
10/07: 5.3
05/08: 6.2 (right after dealing with shingles and bronchitis)

thanks for replay

well
my dad take Insulin (as Injection) and other meds for hypertension and he suffer heart attack and a stroke so he take medication for them too
