| | | Welcome JD! Glad you found the forums. There's lots of great information to be found here. I know you're glad to see you're numbers trending downward, bet you're feeling much better as well.
Do you watch the # of carbs you eat (esp. the "white" foods such as rice, pasta, bread, potatoes?). Do you test your blood sugars often?
Post often, and read some of the old posts as well. Feel free to ask any questions you may have....somebody will chime in with an answer. We're all here to help.

| | | Hi JD,
Welcome to the forums, lots of great people and information here. I'm sure you will get accustomed to the Lantus shots. Ask lots of questions, there are really good people here who will no doubt be able to answer the questions.
One thought, I know you have 8 years of experience under your belt but it might be worth having a read of Gretchen Becker's book "The first year: Type 2 diabetes" as it may have thoughts/tips that you have not come across before.
How often do you test? Do you watch carbs?
Welcome, visit and post often,

| | | Thanks, all.
I was a bad boy for a while, stopped testing and watching my carbs. My BG got away from me.
I'm back checking twice (at least) a day, and being real careful about having no more than 40-50 carbs at a meal tops.
I snack on cheese, peanuts and sugar-free cookies and candy now.
Had a scary thing happen yesterday...started feeling kinda light-headed, checked my BG...it was < 70. That's never happened before...Had a piece of toast and I felt better. Don't know if it was the Lantus (was almost 18 hours after the shot) or the combo of Lantus and my pills actually working. | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
