Hiya everyone, just signed up and wish to say hello!

Good morning everyone,
My name is Helen aka Cassini and I am new to the site. I found it while frantically looking around the net to see if the symptoms plus blood sugar reading I had a couple of weeks ago mean anything.

I did a fasting blood work early this week and see the Doctor on the 17th to find out what the outcome is.

I am scared of course as I saw all the females in my family end up with either Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes at some points in their lives. They have all since passed so I don't really have anyone to talk to about my fears, questions etc. I have been using the internet to find out as much as I can.

I have some different problems with my health and one of the meds I take for that has weight gain as the main side effects so I have gained an incredible amount of weight in the past year.

I am a single mother of three, two grown and living on their own and one still at home with me, he is in grade 11. I have three grandchildren one is 4, one is almost 3 and one is 6 months old.

I have just started a swimming routine to work on my general health and excercise program, trying to work off this extra weight So either way with the diagnosis, this is a good thing.

Well, thats about it for me for now, I am going to look around the forums and see what is out there for info and to get to know you members some more.

Thanks for listening/reading my mini rant about life in general for me and I look forward to getting to know you all more.

Cass

Well then you know what I am talking about..I got diabetes from Zyprexa. so sad I ever took it. I knew it was a side effect
I got tested for diabetes every 3 months and one time. Boom
BS 356. and there it was. Why even prescribe this med?

So then they promptly took me off Zyprexa, so what was the point?

I have since stopped taking all mt mental heath drugs, still taking lithium but trying to wean off. and yes, I am having trouble coping.

The only drug I am willing to take now is ativan, which I need some.

Even with all this, my phyhiatrist prescribed Seroquel, which I refuse to take. My phychologist said "don't take it"

it is all very bizzarre

Welcome to the forum where you are among friends!
