Smile Hello from North Carolina

I am new to this forum and I thought I would say hello. I am a type 2 diabetic and I am insulin dependent. I do MDI using Novolog on a sliding scale and Lantus 120u split 50 in the am and 70 in the pm.

I am a retired from the Air Force where I served for 24 years. I am now a Education Counselor and a computer support technician.

I have been married to a wonder and understanding women for 32 years come next month. I have 2 grown children.

I have 5 dogs and 6 birds, my house is never quiet

I go to the YMCA everyday trying to lose weight and for the pleasure of swimming in the Olympic size pool.

I have an appointment with an Endo in Novemeber to start the process of being put on a pump. I have done a lot of research and I feel that the One Touch Ping is the one for me.

Well, that's all for now. I hope to be an active poster but I do tend to be a lurker

Peace to you all.

Welcome Hoyt! Glad you found the forums. Lurking is most definitely allowed, but its much more fun to jump in with both feet. Lots of friendly folks and great information here.

Sounds like you've got a great life! Hope you post often and share your pump experience with us.

Welcome to the group, Hoyt
I am only a week old myself here but sure have found this a most informative and friendly site. I feel kind of silly because I have not finished the Dx process so am not sure this is where I belong at all! But one way or another, I do/will appreciate all the wonderful information everyone is so willing to share.
Welcome aboard,
Cass

Hi Hoyt.

That's my dad's name too. You made me smile. Welcome to the board and do dive right in, we aren't necessarily shy here.

The Outer Banks was one of those parts of the US that I never knew existed. A little hidden paradise that was full of history and beauty. I loved driving though there a couple of years ago, riding ferries, walking beaches and visiting some of the best lighthouses ever. You lucky person, to be so near.

Looking forward to hearing more from you,

Mich
