Looks like a great forum. I am sure I will gain a lot of useful information. I am a type 2 and have been so for 5 years.

Please tell us a little more about yourself and how you manage your diabetes.

T2, diagnosed 8/31/06.
Metformin 500 mg twice daily
HCTZ 12.5 mg every other day for BP
Enalapril 20 mg 1 daily (ace-inhibitor)
Lower carb dieter (approx. 75 total carbs/day, more on weekends), taking chromium, multivitamin and fish oil tablets

Initial A1C 8/06: 9.6
11/06: 6.2.
03/07: 5.3
06/07: 5.4
10/07: 5.3
05/08: 6.2 (after dealing with shingles & bronchiti)
2/09: 5.5

I have been retired since Aug of 07 and am enjoying it a lot. I take metformin twice a day for a total of 2000. I was on Actos but it got too expensive so the doc changed to metformin. Last A1c test was 30 days ago and was 6.1.
