| | Hi Craig,
G'day from another Aussie and nearly a neighbour. Just up the road in Cold old Goulburn!!
Your Diabetes is very different to the people on this forum.
Diabetes Insipidus as you know is about fluid control or lack of it. You have to take medications to stop you drinking lots and peeing lots. It is caused by a tumor or damage to the brain.
Diabetes Melitis is a problem with the pancreas . It either stops producing insulin all together or the insulin is not as strong as it should be.This means that sugars cannot be used in the body for energy. The sugar is in the blood stream and this atracks water from the body. Causing a person to pee lots and drink lots.
Diabetes refers to water The Melitis and Insipidus is the difference.
My explanation is a very simple one and I'm sure others could go into a lot more detail.
People can be very ignorant and don't relise their comments are hurtful. I hope that you can find some useful information here. Just talking about your experiences and concerns can help
I have met a few people with your disease over the years
I'm no expert on it. but would love to learn more.
By the way I love your nick name,I had a friend years ago with the same nick name.

| | Hi Again Craig,
RPA always makes me get emotional as well as My Mother had a huge operation 5 years ago . Plus the thought of the Dr Chris O'brien and his brain tumor. Plus I'm a big softy.
As for people and working again I don't know one was a child years ago. The other lady I think she may have been working but not 100%
Interesting about the tablets. Treatment used to be a powder you snorted up your nose
Diabetes the disease that makes injecting or snorting drugs legal !!
Joel New South Welshmen have heard of Ron Barassi We get more AFL then you people get Rugby League

| | | Hi Craig! Hello, good evening and welcome to the forum, you've chosen a great site, warm and friendly people, loads of information, I'm sure you'll like it here.
It must me awful for you, having to go that often, can be quite a nuisance, but as the old proverb goes, when you have to go! you just have too.

Many people will try to tell you what you can’t eat with diabetes.
Most will be well-meaning.
Rather than compounding the problem by telling you what you should
eat, I’d recommend a simpler method, eat by your meter. Buddy 7 Essex uk |

| | | Hi, Craig! Welcome to the forums.
I'm quite interested in hearing about diabetes insipidus. I've heard of it before, but know nothing about it. Hopefully we can learn from each other! |

| | | Welcome Craig..
pleased to meet you and very interested in your Diabetes.. I imagine it must be hard having to explain to just everybody what you have to do.. I am guessing RPA is a tv show about a hospital? So you are a star too!?
