| | | Guess I'mSupposed to Introduce Myself ... Hi.
Happened across this forum quite by accident.
Diabetic (T1) for nearly 31 years now. Have one son who was diagnosed almost 4 years ago. (My other son is only 1. They will be screening him soon to see how at risk he is.)
Went on the Animas pump almost 3 years ago. Put my son on one last month. (LOVE the Ping! Having the meter remote to bolus from is fantastic!)
Not so sure about all of these CGMS things that are coming out. They sound great in theory, but when you read into them I start to wonder how worth it they really are. I mean ... a second insertion point? Yuck.
Having them be less accurate if you take Tylenol-based pain killers when Motrin-based pain killers are bad for your kidneys and my nephrologist won't let me take ibuprophin ... ever ... ? Not encouraging.
*Shrugs* Maybe I'm too old-fashioned, but I'll keep sticking my finger for now until they make them more accurate. At least I don't have to use that guillotine-like lancing device anymore!
Hey! Did anyone else ever try that nasty injector that was based on the hypo-sprays from Star Trek? That sucker actually caused my first ever bout of DKA!
Anyway ... hi. This looks like an interesting place to hang out from time to time. I look forward to it!

Many people will try to tell you what you can’t eat with diabetes.
Most will be well-meaning.
Rather than compounding the problem by telling you what you should
eat, I’d recommend a simpler method, eat by your meter. Buddy 7 Essex uk | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
