Hi! My name's Bethanne. A diabetic since I was 12, I changed to a pump four years ago. The best thing that ever happened to me. I love the flexibility and the tighter control.
I don't like how easy it is to cheat.
When I hit 30 a few years ago and my thyroid pooped out on me, I started this crazy downward spiral to...what's a good way of putting it?...just getting by, I suppose. I still work at staying in a good range, but the occasional high is more likely.
Ugh. What a pity party. Here's something. I feel blessed to have Type I rather than Type II. I feel there is so much more to overcome with Type II. I'm only 160 lbs. I'd like to be less, but I could be alot more! I have four beautiful children--delivered with minimal complications...as a matter of fact, I had the best management of my life with all of my pregnancies. (must have been the motivation!) My eyes are perfect and my cholesterol bumped up to above normal, but in 3 months I was able to get it back where it belongs. *knockknock* (that's me, knocking on wood. LOL)
I stay busy, but look forward to getting to know some new people. While perusing the forum, I've already been motivated by the wonderful numbers in some of the member's signatures. I've never been able to join a group offline--we've moved around alot and are about to do so again soon--so this is perfect. I'm very happy to have found you.
Thanks.
Bethanne Strasser
