Hello All!

My name is Bethany and I just found this website today. I don't have diabetes, but I very recently found out I am very hypoglycemic. I began having heart problems 3 years ago, and struggle with a very rapid heart rate. I have seen my heart beat as high as 193 beats per minute, It generally stays between 140 and 160. Obviously I shake, pass out and other exciting things!LOL So when The shaking went to the extremes a month ago, I assumed it was my heart. I have only been able to work about 1 day a week since I am a server and can't carry a tray like this. The symptoms got worse, blurred vision, spots in my eyes, my entire body trembling etc. So I went to the dr. and she thought hypoglycemia. While waiting a week to do my glucose test, I began trying to eat high protein every few hours. This helped a little. I got the test back, and I guess it was bad because my doc suggested eating every hour! This is very difficult for me to do! I have such a chaotic life. I am a mommy, I work, I attend school full time, and I baby sit a 3 month old. The shaking has to stop! I would LOVE to have my vision back!!! I am eating non-stop and I am not feeling any better. I try not to complain to my family, because they do not understand how bad I feel. I am hoping to make friends here, hopefully get advise, and try to help others!!! Thanx everyone!!

Hello Bethany:

I'm so sorry for what you're going through. My concern is that all this time and Dr visits and you haven't been informed as to what is wrong, why this is happening, what the long term prognosis is etc.

I'd suggest the following:
Plan A
1. Schedule a consult and take your significant other with you.
2. Take a list of all of your current symptoms.
3. Tell your Dr all your current symptoms, explain your current situation is intolerable and ask what his/her alternate plans of treatment might be.

Plan B
1. Seek a 2nd opinion/find a new Dr, perhaps an Endocrinologist.

You shouldn't have to go on like this. Please keep posting and advise us of updates.

Wishing you the best.

Thank you very much for your advise! I didn't even think of seeing a specialist! Your right, this can't go on! I should be able to feel well. I just took my doctor's suggestion to eat more, and left it at that! I will make another appointment! Thank you much!
