| | | G'Day Hello All
My name is Craig and I'm the father of Cameron, 10yo and Sophie, 8yo. They both have type 1 and coeliac disease.
They've both been pumping for nearly 2 months now, Paradigm 722.
We're from Sydney Australia.
Just thought we'd check out some overseas forums.
Regards
Craig |

| | | Hi Lee
Kids are doing well on the pumps.
I am finding the main problem is them not entering BSL's and carbs when they're at school, or my wife and I are at work.
We're getting there though.
Cameron's had it since he was 12 months old and his levels were all over the place. I can see an improvement witht the pump. Sophie was diagnosed 3 years ago and usually fairly stable. |

Welcome to the forum!
So tell us more - are the kids on any specific diet? What works best for them? |

| | | Thanks guys.
Cameron is on a gluten free diet now. Sophie will do the same after she has her biopsy.
The CD is a massive learning curve for us atm, as the kids don't like a lot of the gluten free foods (breads, cereals)
We get a few different things for Cam to try each time we visit the shopping centre. Some he likes, some he doesn't.
It's good they like their fruit, veggies and rice.
We were thinking of putting the whole family (4 kids and 2 adults) on a gluten free diet, but I don't think we could afford it.
Cheers
Craig

| | | I'm guessing there's a few Aussies around here?
If so, do you check out the Aussie sites?
I find them great but not too busy at the times I'm on them.

I find them great but not too busy at the times I'm on them. | This is the first forum I found & joined about a month later.
I recently looked at other forums but all seemed inferior.

| | Hello & Welcome to DF Craig, Cameron & Sophie. I too live in Melbourne and have this often confusing disease now for 38 Years and on Manual Daily Injections using pens.
I am not that well in the know about coeliac disease, But there are many other people that do. I am sorry that you have this disease but then you are in a forum that will help you in your quest to keep you children healthy & happy. |

| | Hi everyone and thanks for your support.
Good to see people from all corners of the globe saying G'Day.
Much appreciated.
Been a hectic 3 months in this house, with my 2 youngest being dealt another chronic disease, other health issues with my parents as well as my wife's father. When will it end?
And 9 new puppies to rob us of even more sleep 4 weeks ago.
I'm guessing that Christmas is on the horizon...

| ahh but what excitement those puppies must've brought into your family. Last week I got to cuddle a 5week old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel & the memory of that pleasure will linger a while.
