New Guy on the board.

Hi, I am new here in the forum, 47 years old type 1 since I was 40, so not that long. Just became a pump user in the last moth or so, I have a Paradigm 722 with Contiuouse Glucose Monitoring system (thank God for good insurance, oh, and living in Canada.)
I am liking the pump and CGM system, although I feel a bit like the Barron Harkohnan with it on...
I would love to meet up with some other pump users and get some advise on settings and carb equivalents for protiens and fats, as well as using this gear during sports, as I play Hockey )

Many people will try to tell you what you can’t eat with diabetes.
Most will be well-meaning.
Rather than compounding the problem by telling you what you should
eat, I’d recommend a simpler method, eat by your meter.

Welcome to the forums Rob,

You have found a great place for information and support.

I do believe we have a member here who is pumping and also plays hockey, so I'm sure you'll get some guidance.

Hey Rob

Yes I play hockey with mine. I wear mine on the frontish-side of my jock. Sometimes it stays in the dressing room. As a defenseman there's a risk of getting a puck, but I'm sure MM will cover it

I usually cut my basals an hour before until an hour after by 50% or more depending on my BG level.

Hi thanks for that. I had some issues with going low by the middle of the second period, it felt like I had no energy to move. the last game I shut the pump off but still wore it to use the CGM. it was better. I have also started packing Gatoraid. Overall, I am loving the pump though.

Welcome new guy!

Gee, I was going to say I'm 47 too, but just remembered I'm 48! Happy pumping, and I look forward to seeing you around
