I had the rubber part (over the face of the pump) of the Animas 1250 come off. Animas replaced my pump. Guess what, same problem again. Does anyone else experience this? Thank you all for being there!!:shakehand

Hasn't happened to mine neither. I'd keep getting a new pump. Only downfall is that you need to keep reprogramming.

My Paradigm can upload all the setting from the previous pump, via the software on my PC. Pretty cool.

I've needed to avail myself of the feature one time with my 515; when I discovered a crack in the case just before the warranty was up. I would have been so ticked if I'd found it the following week 'cause it would have been out of warranty.

You can upload your pump stuff to the ezmanger and then if you get a new pump download your settings from the ezmanger to your new pump.

I also had the buttons come off my animas IR1200, after having it for less than a year.

ETA: actually, here is a thread about the problems I had wth my animas http://www.diabetesforums.com/pumping-insulin/6739-bits-falling-off-my-animas-2.html . I am actually still using a loaner pump now, they havent got a replacement out to me yet, and this all started in december last year! I mean, I have a working pump currently and all, but its not actually mine, just on loan.

Forgot about that. Guess I should back up my pump settings...

How do you know they didn't intend for you to keep it? Whenever I've had an Animas pump problem they send me a new pump (probably refurbished) and I send mine back and we're done. I never have anything else to do. I've never heard of them doing a loaner pump till yours is fixed and sending yours back.

MM used to do that for anyone so emotionally attached to their pump that they didn't want their pump replaced. I don't know if they still do that. I always was fine with a working refurb.

Well, thats a good question. I have gone through a couple of loaner pumps now, as the first had battery issues, and the second got a cracked screen. The pumps are sent out on the understanding that they are just to be used until your actual pump is replaced. They are not always new. Only this last loaner pump I have is actually new, the other ones had been used by other people.

I think they are a bit confused about what they are doing with my pump situation, as I got a call from animas a few weeks ago trying to figure it out. They asked me if I had been told this current pump was for loan or to keep, and I said loan. She then asked me if I wanted to just keep this one, but I said I would prefer a new one, as this loan pump is silver and I prefer black.

I think the difference is that here in Australia, they do not have a supply of pumps to just give out when something goes wrong, they have to wait for a shipment from America. Thats why they have second hand pumps floating around to be used for loan, and why we dont just get a new pump sent out to us straight away when our pumps die.

ETA: oops, that repy is for Jedi, Spike posted while I was typing.

My first 1250 was recalled due to the carb counter issue.
The second 1250 was my fault, I cracked the screen and couldn't see anything.
On both occasions they had shipped over night with no questions asked.

I think the Animas Corp knows how to take care of it's pump users.

cozmo can do that as well

As can the Animas 1250, actually.

If you've ever actually connected it to your PC. Not everyone does that.
