No personal experience with it, but others have reported seeing results in a couple to several days.

OK, glipizide is in the same class of drugs as the gliclazide I'm taking. When I first started on it I was told to start with a low dose (80mg per day), take that for a week and if there was no effect to increase to 160mg, hold that for a week and add another 80mg, carry on doing that to a maximum of 320mg (four tablets).

As I added each tablet, I found it took a few days before I saw the effect of adding that tablet and I didn't see a really useful effect for bringing down my glucose level until I reached the maximum dose - and then it took a few days to see the full effect.

So, to answer your question - I would give it one week and then I would expect to see something. If you don't see an effect after one week, then I would think that your doctor needs to increase your dosage.

I hope this helps.
