It's official since this afternoon : I will have a hysterectomy May 30th.

Both doctors have decided I'm fit and ready for the op. I was told I am one healthy specimen! Was I happy to hear that...!!! I must keep a tight control of my sugars after surgery and I shouldn't have problems. Because I have diabetes, I have been told to expect 8 to 10 weeks instead of the regular 4 to 6 weeks recovery time.

Since we're moving back to Canada in August I MUST be fit for the long flight ahead. I was told I will be at no higher risk of thrombosis in August than I would be right now. That's good news! I will need to stretch, get up, exercise a bit and drink plenty of fluids on the airplane.

Will have to re-schedule my diabetic check. I don't think I'll be up for it 8 days after surgery...

I am so happy! I didn't think it would be possible to have that surgery before the move. I will soon see an end to my pain and suffering.........!!!

Will keep you guys posted on how I'm doing. I am very confident everything will be ok.

Can't wait to see how BG will react...

By the way, since we have insurance I am going private. Just for the blood test I was treated... like the Queen! I think it will be a positive experience.

Hi Marie

It sounds like it is the news you were hoping for - I hope all goes ok & you have a swift recovery. I don't blame you for not trusting the NHS!
