Hallo everyone,
I am a 27 years diabetes patient, type 2, having lots of complications, including neuropathy.
Recently, I feel my toes and ankles having twsting obstacle. Also I can keep walking 30 minutes per day, but the numbness and crampling feeling - it seemed my toes and ankles had more resistances, some kinds of obstacle produced when moving it,as if a heavy load under my feet arch. Is it because my spine problems, nerves problems, systemic sclerosis problem or something else? I'm not so sure. But the agony always reminded me of its worsening. Is there someone who had the same feeling?
Thanks.

Hi Yu Qinghua,
First of all, I'm not a medical doctor. Therefore, I can not give any opinion about any medication. I can only tell you my experiences and also from what I've learned by reading books and internet about diabetes. I know that many people who have experienced with neuropathy were able to reduce or remove the pain by controlling their glucose level. It will take time. Many people, also, used food supplement like; alpha lipoic acid, evening primerose oil. How are you doing with your diet. Have you watched the amount of rice, bread, noodle from your diet. When I was first diagnosed over 2 years ago, I eliminated all those foods I mentioned above from my diet. My menu consist of mostly vegetables, tofu, and few meats. With this diet, I was able to loose more than 65 pounds of weight and 12 inches from my waist. My first and last A1C 2 years ago was 5.3. Take care.

Hallo ADE,
Thanks for you mentioning experiences for me. You are right, controlling BG level is a MUST for neuropathy patients. And I also noticed the alpha lipoic acid, flax seed oil may be helpful, I'll try it. You mentioned the evening primerose oil. What is it - a nutrition or a new medicine?
Congratulation! you are great! successfully loosing your so much weight, only by diet planning. Yours experiences are so precious, may rescue so many patients who are overweight.

Evening Primprose Oil is a dietary supplement. Used with ALA(alpha lipoic acid) it helps with insulin resistance.
