So...Through a health assesment at work, I found out my bg was 232. BP was fine, Cholesterol and everything else was fine too. They suggested I check in with my family doctor. I had no clue anything was wrong.
To make a long story short, I consulted my doctor who saw me almost a full week later. I made some changes on my own and my fasting level was 130. He diagnosed me as Type 2. he did not put me on any medication, just an asprin a day.The next week I saw a dietician and kept up with my new lifestyle.
I have also recently started cardio exersises at home and being more active (which as a backpacker and paddler, I thought I already was) Since all of this started, I have been watching the levels steadily drop slowly.
My bg levels are now steady in the mid 80's and I feel better than I have in quite a while.
I think I had a pretty productive month. I can't wait to see my doctor's look when he sees my food and bg level logbook.
