I am a type 2 and was diagnosed just over a year ago. My bs is in pretty good control with my last 3 AC1 at 6.0. I am going for my karate grading tomorrow which will be a 5 hour hard excercise session. I have no problem taking a time out to eat something in the middle but I am not sure what would be the best to ensure I don't go too low while doing heavy excercising. I will be drinking plenty of water and have a couple of juice boxes handy just in case. The test is happening in a school so any type of nuts is out.
If you have any suggestions that would really be helpful.
Thanks
Steve

Hmmmmm...I would recommend something composed more of complex carbs, whole wheats, etc. Why are nuts out?

I saw a couple years ago one of my favorite football players on the sidelines during a game munching on what looked like Chex Mix. That really suprised me with the explosion of "supplements" that athletes have access to. So maybe carry some cereal around in a ziploc bag as well?

Why are nuts out?Potential allergic reactions.

I would buy a couple of protein drinks and bring those. There are some ready to drink varieties that have 20g protein and carbs. They would also be a good, quick meal replacement.

Good luck!
