I'm sure this has been discussed many times before, but I can't find the thread. What is a good bedtime snack that will help with high readings in the morning. I take Metformin at night before I go to bed, so I am not really sure why my highest readings are in the morning. My last A1C was 5.4, and I would like to get it lower. Thanks.

Hi As I thought you were supposed to take Metformin WITH food at meals? I could be wrong as Iam only T2 for 3 months. I usually don't have highs in the morning and my snack is usually a s/f pudding or jello. How high are you in the morning? Maybe just eat certin things and see whats making you high and foods that dont make you are the good ones.

My levels are ALWAYS high in the AM. Actually yesterday was the lowest in months, (like 8). It was 144. I was told by my doctor NOT to snack AT ALL. So, I've stopped completely. I was also told to take my Metformin/Amaryl/Byetta, RIGHT BEFORE or WITH meals. I can't get over how many doctors give different advice. Nancy
