Hi everyone. I have been gone for awhile, taking care of my dying Mom. I had a great A1C, 6.3, last month. The best in two years and my endo is getting me ready to go on a pump by the end of summer. My question; he put me on the Levemir and Novolog pens, which I am liking, but the Levemir pen works so hard. Is this normal? I have tried two others and they all have resistance when you are trying to inject. The Novo pen works easy. I have been on NPH for 13 years and it was time to switch, but this pen is pissing me off. I know that I will get hematomas like crazy.
Also, I will go on a brand new Minimed pump with a BG sensor, something pretty new. Anyone familiar with this one? Thanks Rudi

The case might be needle. Do you use Novo Nordisk needles?

Try using your Levemir in your Novolog pen. They're the exact same pen so the cartridges are interchangable.

I use levemir in the nordisk4 pen just like I do my novorapid. I haven't found any problems. I do notice that it's a little thicker to push down but I assume that's becuase I'm injecting a higher quantity of insulin.
