Hi,
Before I was dianosed t2 13 months ago I had lost a lot of weight,I cannot remember my exact weight at the time so i am guessing I have lost a further 7 Ibs since (about 28 lb in all) I weigh 8.3 now.I am concerned because I expected to gain some back once things got under control, why would I lose more ?
I havent had to change my diet much and i eat 4 meals a day now (only 1 or 2 meals before diabetes) and I am also less active. ?????
I am on 2000mg metformin and 160mg gliclizide.
Any ideas ?
Thanks

I;m not sure why but count your blessings...I ended up gaining back about 10 pounds. Cde says it's becuase I've stablized and stopped peeing off all my fluids. I imagine it wont last forever so take advantage of it while it lasts.

Before I was diagnosed as a Type 2 diabetic in February of this year I had lost about 30 pounds for no apparent reason. Since I was very overweight I was happy to see this but didn't really think much about the fact that it happend through no effort on my part, I was just happy about it !
I got pretty sick in January with a burst appendix and basically had no appetite at all so I began to lose more weight, then finding out I'm diabetic I completely changed my eating habits. So in total I have now lost close to 90 pounds and I am SO happy with how I look and with my effort to control my blood glucose and finally reaching a healthy weight.
I can't ever imagine wanting to put weight on, but I can understand that is as serious a concern to some as losing weight is to others. I hope you are able to put back the weight you want. Maybe with the help of a dietician you can figure out how to add more to your diet and keep your bg stable at the same time. Let us know how you are doing with this eh :)
