I am new to diabetes, dx in April this year, and already I have broken my insulin bottle once and my wife broke the replacement just 8 days later. Has anyone seen a product that protects the bottles from breakage. Perhaps like a koozy for insulin bottles?

In all my years as a diabetic, I think I've only broken two vials, although I've probably dropped the majority of them at some point. I have a little kit that I carry them in but they are in greater danger when I'm picking them up to withdraw or mix the insulin. They've proven to be pretty tough because I've dropped them on tile floors with a cement base. I've found asphalt, cement, and tile to be the worst things to drop them on. Wish I knew how to help but I guess I've just been lucky in not breaking more.

This will do perfectly. Our kitchen has a tile floor and that's where all the damage has been done. Pretty much everywhere that I am drawing up, is carpeted so no problems there. I am using finger supports (made for supporting jammed or strained fingers) which has been OK but these will do much better.

Keep in mind they only fit on "regular" insulin bottles (humalog, novolog, novolin R, etc). They are way too big for Lantus and Symlin bottles. Those are the only insulins I have ever used, so I don't know what the sizes of other vials are.
