Hi again :)
I FINALLY got the results from Eri's brain MRI on Monday. (after calling and leaving messages...and they even say on their messages to make sure you get in touch w/ them if you haven't heard in a week....it was over 2 weeks!)....anyhow, it came back clear, thank God!
So, now she see's the neuro again on July 10th and we'll see about the zoloft instead of the amitripiline...and then off to the endo on the 13th. It's like we have "CHOB's week" all at once w/ all her specialists around the same time usually!(than off to FL for a few weeks...I CAN'T WAIT!!!)

Why is she going on zoloft? I highly reccommend staying off SSRI's and only used as an absolute last resort. To see the horror of what happens to people put on ssris I suggest you go to http://www.paxilprogress.com. They do work, and I am on one, but once you are on one > 1 year you will most likely be on it the rest of your life. There is also a black box label that SSRI's are not supposed to be administered to people under 18 as it causes children to become suicidal.

paxilprogress.ORG Sorry about that. Hope it's ok I post that link. It's another vBullieten site that is not selling anything.

I'm not sure that is entirely true. I used Prozac for several years and stopped after it became ineffective. I haven't taken a serotonin reuptake inhibitor for a number of years now.

The reason for the zoloft is to help control the anxiety disorder...the amitripiline is not something I want her on...and I asked why they wouldn't give her imitrex...but they just said it's not for her. I hope they do something, though, b/c she gets the migraines where she throws up and has light sensitivity, etc...

Oh yeah, and thanks for the links...
I myself was on zoloft for a while b/f they put me on different meds for the heart palps...I stopped them cold turkey w/o any side effects.
I have heard of those other situations, though.

It's not always the case, but it is more common then not. Prozac is the lightest of the SSRI's as well. Paxil, Zoloft, and Lexapro are the hardest to come off of.

How long were you on it? That's wild both you and Vincent stopped no problem. I have seen, and experienced nothing but the opposite.

It was about a year and a half that I was on it.

I'm happy to read that nothing showed up in Eri's MRI! I also suffer from severe migraines, although I no longer get them as frequently as I did before being dx'd. Here's hoping they'll put Eri on the right medication so she won't have to suffer so much.

PHEW! I'm so glad that Eri's MRI came out clean :top:. That's a huge relief.
As for the headaches, wish I knew what to do to help that.. I've been dealing with more of them myself....though I don't think they are migraines, probably just tension headaches, but they aren't pleasant :frown:. I hope you get to the bottom of this all and finds something that helps her.
Both of you, hang in there ;)

Great to hear that Eri's MRI was all clear, Robin. :) Wow, I'm
sure she will feel much better when she gets going in Florida. Do
you still have Family and Friends there Robin? Maybe you could
leave her down there for maybe a month. I think it would do her
a world of Good. Although you's would miss each other too much
for that long. Then again. she may not want to go back to Buffalo.;)
Oh that's right, she can't stay there long 'cuz she probably has more
appointments during the summer, I guess. Oh Well....

Well, we're taking my son back(the girls and I...my dad is driving down w/ me)...and I plan on staying for 2-3 weeks...after her neuro and endo appt. He next appt. is w/ the GI in October, same time as the endo will be.
I'm actually considering moving back there w/ the kids. I have to see how everything goes when I'm down there...a LOT of decisions to make. (I am SUCH the human boomerang between here and FL)...UGH!!!
(Oh, my mom, stepdad, sister and her family, cousins, aunts and uncles are all there along w/ a lot of friends)...

Hey Robin, so Eri will be in Florida about a month anyways, so good. I will be so interested in seeing if there are any positive changes. I know she does have the other medical problem that you have but unless she has something else that the Doc's can't dx.(what else is new  ), I can't see her being that ill for that often. I am glad you's won't be bothered with Doc's appointments during that time.
It is amazing how depression(just guessing not dxing)can badly effect some people physically, and Children are no exception to the rule. I just hope and pray that you will see a Good improvement after you's are there for a few days. Of course, you may have to move back there then...well, the **** we
have to go through for our Kids, Right??? ;) :D
I wish you All a Wonderful visit with Family and Friends, especially you and
Eri. Have Fun Too...that's an ORDER. :D
