Hi everyone! :)
My husband's dr. started him on Lantas this past Monday. My husband
is having stomach upset every time he eats since starting the Lantus, regardless of what, when or how much he eats (he didn't have this problem prior to starting the Lantus).
My question is, is the stomach upset a possible side effect of Lantus, and have any of you noticed this problem from Lantus?
My husband is a Type 2, and taking Humalog and Lantus.

Not that I know of. I never noticed it.

I just switched from lantus to levemir and the only side effect I can tell was that while on lantus I wanted to eat 24/7. I never had an upset tummy. I'd definately talk to the pharmacist or doc.

For years, I could not eat Wheaties cereal. This happened, because I had it for breakfast one day and got very sick, I was sick for a week, throwing up and just feeling lousy. After that, I always thought it was the Wheaties that made me sick and would never eat them again. Then one day when I was very hungry, and there was nothing but Wheaties, I tried a small bowl, big surprise...they taste great and did not make me sick! Hmmmm! :D The point, maybe your husband has a bug, or something else that has upset his stomach, just when he started the Lantus, and he thinks it is the Lantus that made him sick. It has never caused me any problems, either. Maybe he just needs to give it some time.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I'll show them to my husband, and will
be checking to see if we get any more replies. :)
My husband will check with the pharmacist, and wait to see if it's a bug
or something, as you suggested, penny.
