Ive noticed a painful swelling on my stomach, where I injected myself 2 nights ago. Should this be something to see my doctor about? Ive been on nightly injections since Nov. 1 and never had this happen before.

Hi Jmchevy, and good morning. How big is the swelling? Is it discolored? Sometimes when we inject we get a localized reaction that seems to create a lump, but personally I've never had it last that long and continue to be sore. It's possible you dinged a nerve - did it hurt like all heck when you injected in that spot? I do have an area on my abdomen that I do not ever inject into, because it's painful and bruises.
Hopefully someone else will be able to provide more insight. It certainly wouldn't hurt to at least call your dr's office and ask to speak to someone - maybe a nurse.

Yes, I have problems with brusing, bleeding, pain, and lumps on occasion, especially in the stomach. The few times I've had swelling, it was due to a hard lump that formed at the injection site or a nasty bruise that would come up. I really don't know what to say but hopefully someone can offer some helpful ideas.

Ive had these lumps before, i find that if i rub the area where ive done my jab i dont get the lumps, but i would choose a different area until the lump goes down.
Good luck.

I also have had lumps after injections. This is caused by some of the fluid being absorbed into the stomach muscle & tissue. It is nothing to worry about. If you rub the area after the swelling should gradually disappear. Make sure that you rotate the injection sites to prevent this & bruising.
