Last night I ate what I estimated was 20g of pretty fast carbs (I know I'm bad) I took 2 units of novo which is twice what I need, thinking I'll eat another 20g when I get lower. an hours later I'm 207, ok no more food, I kept waiting. 30 minutes later I'm 273!!! ok I didn't see these numbers for at least 3 month. I took another 2u. this should've taken me to less then 100 with my normal ratio. An hour later I'm still over 200 so I figured my insulin has gone bad, took another 3u from a fresh batch and very slowly 2.5 hours later I was 148. In a normal day I should've been very hypo with just the 3 units. At this point I went to bed. With my usuall basal I should've gotten up 90-100, I woke up 140 and now 2.5 hours later I'm constantly around 140.

I'm feeling fine (no flu or anything) and I hope this has nothing to do with the new drug I'm taking, I'll discuss it with my endo, untill then any idea what can cause that? Can the honeymoon end so quickly? I took 7u when normally 1-2 would've been enough and I still ended up too high. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Yes that's me, donating my body to science experiments. What I had was sugary kamquats (sp?), the tiny orange like fruit. However I only had 7-8 and the amount of insulin I needed was more then it would be for pure sugar of that amount. I did however had my standart lunch just now with the normal amount of insulin and I hit the 2 hours mark with bg of 116. That was very comforting, I guess last night was one of these unexplained things that just happen and it got me nervous. There is no way the kamquats had that many carbs in it.
