Hello again,
I posted earlier about my high readings, illness and perhaps needing to start medication. On the advice of diabetes nurse I saw a Dr. today.
He had my urine (dip stick) tested straight away and the nurse said it was 3, closer to 4. I was then sent of for more blood tests. Until I see the Dr. again I'm thinking of testing for ketones myself to see if they go any higher. I hope I'm not over reacting.
Thanks, Meg

Meg, my doctor has never tested my urine. Do you have a meter to test with? When you see your doctor, he should run all the tests that you need. Is your appointment soon?

Thanks Penny, Dr. tested my urine because I saw him on advice from my diabetes educator. I rang her because my home testing numbers had been high since having influenza a month ago. She thought I would need medication since diet and exercise do not seem to be working. I had mentioned my high numbers 2 weeks ago to this Dr. he laughed it off because of a slow recovery from flu.
I will find out about the blood tests he ordered on Friday. I just don"t know what to expect next,
Meg

Meg, the medications aren't so bad. They usually start you off slow and use the smallest amount that works. The main thing is don't let it stress you out, it will just make you have higher numbers. When I had the flu really bad it took me 2 months to get my numbers back to a reasonable level. We will help you with it if you have to start on medication.

Thanks Penny, it will be good to get started on medication if it helps me beat this fatigue, I had a meagre lunch and now want to sleep but must go to work instead. if I were at home I would not give in to the sleepiness anyway!!!!!
Kind Regards, Meg
