Here are my results:
6:40am 113
7:30am 161- had large breakfast to get me through the day (~70g, 1:9)
9:00am 152 (I think my 1:9 was too much for brkfst)
10:40am 85- had ~8g because I was feeling very low and thought I'd drop lower
11:10am 83
12:00pm 98
1:00pm 111
2:00pm 101

My problem is I'm really dizzy and nauseous and my balance is totally thrown off. I don't really feel that hungry or the need to eat, so I'm not sure the way I'm feeling has to do with lack of food. I feel like somebody's squirted my ears out with water and totally messed up my equilibrium. I can't walk straight down the halls. It started about the time my bg dropped to 85 and I thought I was low, but it has not gone away. The only notable difference is that over the last 2-3 days I've been trying to drink as much water as I can possibly handle. And since I average maybe 32 oz/day, I wonder if the extra water is having this effect? (I'm drinking 64+ oz now) :dontknow: I'm such a Diet Coke junkie that I'm sure my body is always in a state of dehydration. So does anybody else get this way when they do basal testing? I've only tested once before and it didn't happen.

Do you think my basal dose looks pretty good/Are my bgs stable enough? Should I stop or try to keep going? I was planning on going all the way to dinner to see if I stay stable all the way through.

Did anyone sneeze near you...someone with flu-like symptoms?

Ha ha. :D That would be a no.

I'm sitting at 112 now and I have to drive up to the local hospital for work and I'm a little nervous. It's only a few miles but I will take the back roads. My bgls looks so beautiful I don't want to stop yet!

If you've had a lot of caffeine every day, your brain can become addicted to it. Cutting cold turkey has made some people feel like a drug addict coming off of cocaine (or at least, some sort of addictive drug). Maybe that's what you're feeling?

I've never heard of someone doing a fasting before and already have trouble with it after just a half day. :P I usually start my fasting tests without even eating breakfast, so that I can count the hours that I've slept and proceeding the bedtime.

My dizziness/nausea is still with me but I think I've figured it out - got something going on with both my ears, whether the start of an infection or what, I dunno. The drive up to the hospital is about a 1000 ft gain in elevation and my ears were in such pain. Now that I'm back down they haven't popped and now I'm dizzy and can't hear. :frown: Interesting though, I did not feel dizzy while driving but thought the whole world was spinning when stopped at stoplights.

Oh well, at least my basal test is going well and I'm not starving. (111 right now).

Jason, I know the effects of caffeine withdrawal all too well, which is why I would never cut Diet Coke out of my diet, lol. I'm just trying to supplement with more water. :tee:

I've never gotten dizzy while testing. I have gotten bad headaches trying to quit caffeine.

I believe the basal testing starts 4 or 5 hours after your last meal/bolus right. So the relevant numbers would be from about noon on. If shouldn't fluctuate by more than 30 points, so it looks good, IMO...

I would have liked to fast from waking to dinner, but I would have spiked so high without breakfast and/or bolus! My numbers were perfect for the rest of the evening so I'm pretty sure my basal is ok during the day. I'll have to do an afternoon/evening and an overnight test now, nights are giving me problems.

As far as the dizziness goes, it's fading, but the nausea is getting overwhelming and I just want to throw up and be done with it. :puke: I feel like my bg is 500 but it's sitting nicely at a post-dinner of 140.
