Hi all! The IRS has recently ruled that b/s monitor and supplies are deductible as medical expenses. Maybe if we add that in, more of us can deduct all of our med expenses.

I always get a medical record from the pharmacy to use on my taxes. My accountant does mine too and she is a friend so we deduct all we can. The problem with medical expenses is that it has to be a certain percent of income....I am not a math wiz nor do I like to do my taxes so therefore I am of little help with the exception that medical expenses can be deducted (dr. bills, buying batteries to operate med equipment , dental etc..)

It's 7 or 7-1/2% of your (net?) income. Which means a lot of people can't use this deduction. The new thing in this law, is that now monitors and supplies can be added into medical expenses now. (I didn't know they weren't before, but we've never qualified for the deduction anyway, much as I try)
