I tried a new product and just wanted to share my humble opinion -

I bought a new yogurt made by Dannon called "Carb Control" in French Vanilla which has 3 grams of Fat (I know, high in fat for yogurt) and 3 carbs, 2 sugars. I usually buy Dannon Light and Fit that has 11 carbs/serving, so I thought if this was similar it would be a great way to save some carbs. In my opinion, the regular Light and Fit yogurt with 11 carbs is worth the carbs - the Carb Control has a strange after taste and a watery texture. It was made with Splenda, and I usually like products that are made with that, but this was a disappointment. Oh well - live and learn!

Anyone else found any good/bad low carb products on the market lately? Still waiting for low carb bagels at my local stores.

Thanks!

I eat Silhouette yogurt and it's fat free and has 10 carbs and tastes pretty good; but i will admit that nothing is as good as fat-full carb-full yogurt! Especially the new whipped stuff that's so full of fat I gain weight just thinking about it...

I am not a big yougurt fan, but I like the La Creme Yougurt by Dannon, I think. It's got the fat in it, but only has 20 carbs (not too bad for non-lite yougurt). Of course it is a small portion, but the taste is worth it. I hate the taste of the lite yougurt made w/ the artificial sweetners. It's strange b/c I drink tons of diet soda, but I can't eat the yougurt if it's made with that stuff.

Muller Light yoghurts are pretty good as well, good range of flavours, virtually fat free (ie. less than 1% fat) and they taste nice and don't have a noticeable effect on BG. My personal favourites are the red ones, especially cherry!

I'm still suffering from PTSD after trying several Atkins low-carb products.

I'm with you, Angie. I haven't even tried any Atkins low carb products, but the thought gives me PRE traumatic stress disorder!! ;)

A question for all of you -- Unless you are trying to lose weight, why the low carb, low fat yogurt? Why not just eat the regular stuff, count the carbs, and for those who take insulin, take the appropriate amount to cover it, or for those who don't take insulin, factor it in to your meal plans?

^^The Only yogurt I really like.^^

Although, at a conference last week, a type of yogurt was added to our lunches ( box lunches, of course) that was actually pretty good. It was Peaches and cream. Unfortunately, they were the type that comes in packages so the individual one I got didn't have Carb+ Fat count on the pkg.
